Transfer Academic Scholarships

TCU recognizes and rewards outstanding transfer students with academic merit scholarships. These competitive awards are based primarily on your college GPA and the number of transferable college credit hours.

The Application for Undergraduate Admission also serves as the Application for Transfer Scholarships. Candidates must present the following minimums for consideration (meeting minimums does not guarantee selection):

  • Cumulative college GPA of 3.0
  • Optional letter(s) of recommendation 
  • At least 12 hours of transferable coursework
  • Excellent writing sample (essay)
  • Outstanding personal qualities
  • Outside activities or work experience

Renewal is based on the successful completion of at least 24 hours of coursework during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). A TCU cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required at the conclusion of each spring semester.

How are Transfer Chancellor’s Scholars Selected?

The Transfer Chancellor’s Scholarship is TCU’s most competitive merit award and includes full tuition for six semesters.  Eligible students will be required to submit two letter of recommendation and a resume.  Students who are selected to compete for a Transfer Chancellor’s Scholarship will receive an invitation for a personal interview.
