Transfer Academic Scholarships
TCU also recognizes and rewards outstanding transfer students with academic merit scholarships. These competitive awards are based primarily on the college GPA and the number of completed transferable college credit hours. Family income has no bearing on who will be named an academic scholar.
The Application for Undergraduate Admissions also serves as the Application for Transfer Scholarships. All TCU transfer scholarships are individually reviewed, with the exception of the Chancellor’s scholarship, which is highly competitive; candidates must present the following minimums for scholarship consideration (meeting minimums does not guarantee selection):
- Cumulative college GPA of 3.25
- Optional teacher evaluation
- At least 27 hours of transferable coursework
- Excellent writing sample (essay)
- Outstanding personal qualities
- Outside activities or work experience
Renewal is based on the successful completion of at least 24 hours of coursework during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). A TCU cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required at the conclusion of each spring semester.
