Teacher Certification

Students who have already completed an undergraduate degree (at TCU or elsewhere) and are completing Teacher Certification requirements at TCU should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Teacher Certification students may be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and Federal Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Direct Stafford Loans. Eligible students must take at least 6 credit hours in a given term to qualify for loans and will receive a maximum of $5,500 (for dependent students) or $12,500 (for independent students) per academic year in Federal Direct loans. In addition, parents of dependent students may be eligible to apply for the Parent PLUS Loan to assist with Teacher Certification costs.
